LHC CJ forms new bench to hear Nawaz, Maryam's contempt case

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Yawar Ali on Friday formed new bench after another bench formed to hear contempt of court proceedings against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and other ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders dissolved after a judge recused himself.

The newly formed a full bench of the LHC comprising of Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi, Justice Aatir Mahmood and Justice Chaudhry Masood Jahangir.

The full bench will resume hearing of the contempt of court case against Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and other PML-N leaders on April 9.

Earlier, the bench was dissolved after Justice Shahid Iqbal Hassan was transferred to Multan, Justice Shahid Mubeen and Justice Shahid Jameel Khan rescued them selves from the bench citing personal reacsons.
